Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez was born in Mexico. She's an American-Mexican actress. Also, she sings. As a child Sara was targeted for racial discrimination by many people in America. In the ninth grade, after a school audition where she was praised for her singing and acoustics, she began to gain confidence. The experience not only boosted her self-confidence but also changed the direction she wanted to go in her career. In the year 22 she received her degree from in the Julliard School of New York. In 1993, she had her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was You've Got Mail. Her most memorable break came from the role of The Lady of The Lake as she appeared in the first Broadway version of Spamalot. She was awarded the Tony Award and received great appreciation for her performance. In the following year, when she was Callie Torres on Grey's Anatomy for ABC, she gained greater recognition. Alongside being a popular singer, she released a solo and an extended piece. Also, she is an activist who is active in the field of LGBT rights.
