Lita Rossana Ford (also also known in the form of Lita Ford) is a British born American singer on guitar who took the role of lead singer in The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. They were noticed by their raunchy lyrics and punk-inspired fashion. The band was not able to make a significant impact in the United States but earned huge popular internationally, especially in Japan. Ford's solo career in heavy metal proved successful following the band breakup. After receiving voice lessons, she released her first self-titled album "Out for Blood" and then "Dancin at the Edge". Ford returned to the scene in 1988 with her wildly successful album , 'Lita' which came out in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both were huge hits. Unfortunately her popularity was only brief, and she went under the radar for several years. After releasing 'Black, in 1995, as well as 'Wicked Wonderland just 15 years later, she returned. The year 2016 brought the release of her most recent album of studio work "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
